German Cup

it s cup weekend in Germany. i ll post some plays and infos here for those who like the action, but tread them carefully as german-cup is full of upsets. this will be also separate from my regular plays, which will be posted in the "German weekend".

The league is put in brackets

St.Pauli (2)- Leverkusen(1): Leverkusen -0.5 @ 1.82

St.Pauli is missing 5 players. line is only -0.5 because st.pauli has a reputation of playing in a great atmosphere and is always capable of cup-upsets. But this is a day game and half of "millerntor-stadion is still under construction. great value with Leverkusen here.

Sandhausen (3)- Offenbach (2) no play

Sandhausen started well witha win in regionalliga. Offenbach is expected to struggle big time this year...possible upset

Braunschweig (3)- Bremen (1): Bremen -1.5 @2.08

Braunschweig was supposed to be one of the top teams in regionalliga, but they started with two losses.so already big problems for the team. Bremen is on paper much better and despite mixed pre-season results and some injury problems should be able to win here by 2 goals.

Ahlen (3)- Hannover(1): Hannover -1,-1.5 @ 1.97

Ahlen has injury problems and shouldnt be a big problem for Hannover, which is much improved to last season and is coming of a big confidence boosting friendly win over Real Madrid.

Essen (3)- Cottbus(1): Essen +0.5 @ 1.95

no big news about Essen and cottbus. funny story is that this exact match was already played in the first cup round the last 2 years. Essen won 1-0 and 4-2 after OT...so something tells me Essen will be always up for Cottbus

Osnabrück(2)- Gladbach(2): Leaning to Osnabrück

Wilhelmshaven(4)- Kaiserslautern(2): KAiserslautern -1,-1.5 @ 2.03

Wilhelmshaven got relegated and hav not really built up a new stronger team in off-season. Kaiserslautern should be able to win here.

Hasborn (5)- Rostock (1) @Rostock -2 @2.0

Clear mismatch here.

Wehen (2)- Stuttgart (1): no play: possible upset

missed some of these, but nice calls on HAnsa Rostock and Kaiserslautern, also have the upset in Stuttgart 60 in with Stuttgart down a man. Nice work.

lots of big favs today, but i like them

Wuppertal (3)- Aue (2): under 2.5 @1.95

Aue is known for playinga defensive style. This will be a very tight match as Wuppertal is a very solid regionalliga team, especially at home. That s why Aue s coach already said that they will play out of a very solid defense...it s a 1-0 or 1-1 type of match.

Kiel (4)- Hamburg (1): Hamburg -1.5,-2 @ 1.94

Kiel got relegated last year and is simply outmatched here. Hamburg after a solid pre-season will play with full team. Should be an easy win for Hamburg, which is already match-proven by ui-cup matches.

Viktoria Hamburg (5) - Nürnberg (1): Nürnberg -2,-2.5 @ 1.8

Another blow out expected. Hamburg got injury problems to some key-players, while Nürnberg the cup-defender will not rest players according to coach mayer.

Bremen II (3) - Köln(2): Köln -0.5,-1 @1.80

Bremen has big problems as a lot of players of the regular team had to be transferred for the a-team yesterday due to big injury problems in the a -team. Köln meanwhile is the much better team and played a very solid friendly vs. Bayern during the week.

Gmünd (4)- Aachen (2): Aachen -1.5,-2 @ 1.85

I have no real info about Gmünd, but aachen will not rest players and should be able to get the win here.hopefully by 2 or more goals.

Neustrelitz (4)- Karlsruhe (1): Karlsruhe -2 @ 1.87

It s a mismatch here. Karlsruhe lost the last friendly 0-3 to freiburg which should serve as a wake up call at the right time.

Havelse (5)- Koblenz (2): Koblenz -1.5 @ 1.79

Havelse has injury problems. that combined with the class difference should make a winner.

Trier (4)- Schalke (1): Schalke -2 @1.87

class-difference should be enough even with Trier a solid home team.

Würzburg (4)- Wolfsburg (1): Wolfsburg -1.5,-2 @ 1.90

Wolfsburg cant afford a let down here. Coach Magath got a lot new and high profile players..expectations are flying high and Magath is a well expereince cup-coach to not get this one close.

Seligenporten (5)- Bielefeld (1): Bielefeld -2.5,-3 @ 1.89

2 key players are out for the 5th division team. Coach is already focusing on high balls on defense as he thinks that they are way out-matches when it come to headers.that is never a good sign when you play a Bundesliga team. it basically means that everytime the ball comes into the penalty area it s a potential goal.
